Since 1992, Cuthberts International, based in the UK, has established a reputation as a supplier of excellent quality clothing to the retail sector. As demand has increased for both clothing and fabrics, the company has set up apparel and textile manufacturing facilities in India. The combined capabilities of the Group has enabled Cuthberts International to satisfy the requirements of leading supermarkets and retail chains, whilst retaining its design, sales and marketing, technical support and logistics departments in the UK.The late nineties saw the opening of a knitting unit at Tirupur, producing fabric solely for the Group. In 1999, apparel manufacture was established in Bangalore. This part of the Group now comprises of three stitching units under the banner of Bangalore Babywear Company (Pvt) Ltd, producing around 400, 000 items per week. Linked to the UK by integrated information systems, the sites conform to major store and internationally recognised standards. A full development and technical service operates on site. Cuthberts Textiles India is the most recent part of our expansion giving us total control over our raw material supply chain with the completion in 2006 of our vertical fabric processing plant. Covering some 250, 000 sq. ft. and incorporating yarn dyeing, knitting, preparation, colour kitchen, dyeing, printing and steaming, panel printing, finishing, cutting, embroidery, resource planning system, laboratory, effluent treatment plant.The site is compliant with ISO 14001 and Oeko-Tex requirements.
