The oil mill, founded in 1905, is headquartered in the heart of Sicily, and is now in the 4th generation. Until recently it was only a mill, to which the oil farmers brought their olives for pressing.
Since 2007, however, produces and sells the family Berretta your own olive oil. It has invested in one of the largest and most modern oil mills in Sicily, which began its work with the 2010 harvest.
Olive growing under optimal climatic conditions at 600 m has a long tradition in the region and is the main activity of agriculture. There are cultivated varieties Tonda Iblea, Noccellara and Ogliarola. From these local olive varieties and using cutting-edge technology, the Fam. BERRETTA produced exclusively premium oils.
The monocultivar oil SOPRANO (100% Nocellara Etnea olives) won first place in the category "Frutto Legero" the exhibition Oro Giallo 2010.
