Samyang was founded in 1924 by Kim Yeonsu, and currently comprises of eight business units; food, engineering plastics, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, feed, industrial fibers, trade, and environmental engineering, with four overseas branches and offices. The Corporation operates several subsidiaries and affiliates through several strategic alliances with Korean and foreign companies in a wide range of industries Major products include sugar, flour, cooking oil, Samyang's own Pre-Mix, engineering plastics, patch-applied medicine, medical devices, anti-cancer compounds, assorted feed, industrial fibers, and other materials that are part of everyday life. Immediate plans include restructuring our business focus on the four core areas in pharmaceuticals, bioengineering, chemicals, food and newly emerging businesses as we strengthen our world-class competitiveness in these core businesses.
