Green Mountain Coffee Farm is a family owned and operated microfarm located in Narajo Alajuela region, Costa Rica. The farm sitsat 1500-1600 meters in the town of La Isla, Costa Rica. The farmhas its own micro mill, which allows the owner to porduce singleorigin estate grown micro milled coffee beans.At Green Mountain Coffee Farm, coffee is handpicked to ensurequality by selecting only the red ripe cherries. In the farm'sprocessing mill, or 'benificio', the beans are searated from thefruit, and naturally sun-dried before being roasted and preparedfor enjoyment.The beans are air and sun-dried on suspended hammocks calledAfrican beds to maximize the beans' consistent flavor.The type of coffee grown on this farm is called Villa Sarchi. VillaSarchi is a natural offspring of old Bourbon type coffee. Firstgrown in the 1950's in the Costa Rican townd called Sarchi, andcopmletetly adopted to the high altitudes of Costa Rica.This bourbon offspring has elegant acidity, intense fruit tones,and excellent sweetness.Green Mountain Coffee Farm also has a sister farm in Quindioprovidence, Colombia. This farm is located at Colombia'scoffee-triangle region in Pereira, Colombia.
