Olive Grove Farmhouse olive oil is a family business. We harvest our own olives and take them to the local co-operative press which is also a family business!The oil comes from the Picual Olive Tree which is re-known for it's flavour and high burning point. This means the oil is delicious for drizzling on bread, pizza and salad. It is also excellent for cooking with.Harvesting is end of December into January. However for the 'peppery' and 'extra peppery' olive oil, harvesting is earlier. The Spanish call it "bitter" and "extra bitter" and this relates to the ripeness of the oil. If harvested in end October, the oil is "extra bitter". If harvested in November the oil is "bitter". We prefer the work 'peppery' as it depicts the taste better than 'bitter'.Today's proven health advantages of using olive oil is now well documented. It is better used in cooking than butter and some other oils. Plus the vitamin E content, antioxidant etc.We have only just started importing it into the UK and it is currently selling well at produce markets across the south of England.We can sell to you (almost) any quantity you require.
