The business was founded since the year 1855; developed and grew since that date and in 1927 Hajj Osman Abdelsalam continued the development of the business in Alobiyd the capital of the Gum Arabic in Kordofan all through that period until Hajj Ahmed Osman Abdelsalam joined the business in 1948.
The group extended its trading and investment activities outside the boundaries of the country; in the year 1978 started the business in the Arabian Republic of Egypt. It worked very effectively with direct roles in trade, flour milling, import and export, secure and provision of foodstuff. In 1984 the company established its branches in Cairo, and expanded strongly outside Sudan.
