Orryx Trading was established in 1994 as a manafacturers' agency. The company was intially involved in the sourcing and distribution of supplementary feeding for valnerable groups in Botswana. The main client was the Government of the Republic of Botswana under the the Ministry of Local Government. The company has grown steadly to become a reference point for many emerging companies in the industry especially in Botswana. In recent years the company has made inroads in the neighbouring countries especially Zambia and it has secured a number of contracts especially in the distribution and exportation of maize (corn), soya beans, sugar and timber. Other developments have been in the establishment of business development opportunities in the mining areas such as for gold, copper, emeralds and some small deposits of diamonds in Zambia. The company is now in the process of concluding multi million * deal with an Indian company for the exportation of coal from Botswana and the importation of cement from Europe.
