Cocabo was founded in 1952 in order to commercialize cocoa. This company is certified by Ecocert and Ecologic and the certification mark for the cocoa commercialization is COCABO.The company started with 35 members and at the moment it counts with more then 2000 producers of the Bocas del Toro province. The only requirement needed to become a member is to be from Panama and to pay an inscription fee of 100 US *s.COCABO certifies that its members are organic producers so that they don't have to pay an additional fee to get the product certification.Since 1995, COCABO members have promoted, produced and commercialized organic cocoa.
